Wedding Day nail care

Being the super organised control freak I am, when we went to see our wedding venue in Greece earlier in the year I decided I would trial a few things to see how they'd work for the actual wedding. One of those things was my nail varnish.

As we're going abroad to get married I wanted to trial some different techniques to see which would last the longest. I am always painting my nails different colours and I always keep them relatively long, so I don't need fake nails I just wanted something that wasn't going to chip and something that would give them more of a shape.

I'd heard about a new nail product called Bio Sculpture Gel - it's a gel that's applied over your natural nail (or over your falsies if you have them!), and is supposed to last for weeks without chipping!

I had it done on my toe nails and absolutely loved the results. The gel goes on only slightly thicker than a normal varnish and has a glossy finish. It lasted on my toe nails for months without any chipping. Obviously, as your nail grows out so does the colour but otherwise it was brilliant and exactly what I was looking for.

I had a silk application on my finger nails, which also looked gorgeous and stayed on for the full two weeks. The only thing with the silks was that it left my real nails quite dry underneath. (This is what they looked like) Again the silk was applied in layers over my real nails, which just gave them a nice shape.

I'd thoroughly recommend having Bio Sculpture Gel nails for your wedding day. It's certainly one less thing to worry about. I just wish they had more colour varieties in the salon in Worcester that does it.

It costs about £35 per application and the salon also takes them off properly for you so you don't damage your own nails.

I only had them done for convenience, because I didn't want to have to worry about re-painting my nails on holiday, but they're also beneficial for people with weak nails that want them to grow as they are also said to strengthen the nail.

To find out where you can get them done just go to their website

  1. How spooky I was looking into this the other day! I was concerned about how the nails would react after the treatment, were they really dry?

  2. Great minds hey! No not at all with the Bio Sculpture, only with the silks. But you do have to get them taken off properly, if you pull them off yourself then they will leave the nail looking brittle. Obviously nothing like this is particularly good for your nails - that's why I never wear flasies - but for a one off and peace of mind, I'd say go for it. Let me know how you get on. xx

  3. Will do, my bridesmaid had them done a little while ago and she really recommends them - so I may just have to book myself an appointment!
