Our Wedding Invitation

I'm so excited, that I finally get to share my wedding invitation with you. So here it goes:

Getting married abroad means we need to supply more information than your usual invite. So when it came to choosing our invitations, I really didn't know what to do. There was no way we could get all the info we needed onto one 4-sided invite, so I was in the mindset that it was a waste of money to even have them at all. We'd just print out the information with a pretty font and nice paper. But then I kinda think the invite is what starts the excitement with everyone. So I started doing some research on alternative wedding invitations. I came across all sorts: mini-books, movie clips, songs... ! But all too expensive. Then I found The Original Wedding Tea Towel - yes, that's right a Tea Towel invitation! Eureekakaka!

It was perfect, we'd send all the information out on nice paper as planned, but all our guests can have a keep-sake of our wedding - that they can use! So all my issues were gone... they're also less likely to throw a tea towel away and they'll remember our special day every time they're drying their dishes! :0)

To make sure everyone has the information they need, when we went to Tsilivi in May, we went round loads of different hotels and apartments so we could offer recommendations for all our guests. We also collected lots of information on days out, local sights etc and we've put it all into a booklet, with tips and facts about the island of Zante. And h2b created a pretty design to link the tea towel with the booklet. So we packaged it all up in a, slightly unattractive but necessary, brown envelope and tied the tea towel with some 'rustic' :0) string and a luggage tag. It took a long time to pull everything together, but we're pretty proud of the end result! What do you think?

And this is what the actual tea towel design looks like...

Since finding them for our wedding, I've been spotting them all over the place. On wedding blogs, tweets et al. It's been hard to control my excitement and not comment, but I didn't want to spoil the surprise for our guests. We've had such a fantastic reaction from everyone who's had them so far. Everyone is really excited and most have now booked their holiday for next year! xx

P.S. I would thoroughly recommend the wedding tea towel company. Karen, who we dealt with, was brilliant. And although they said they'd take 4-weeks to arrive, they were here within 2! Woo hoo! Thank you Karen.
